Snake and Mongoo$e Special This Week on Track Source Radio-Thursday Night on RaceTalkRadio.com

Join hosts Dennis Michelsen and Tim Frost of the National Speedway Directory for Track Source Radio…the official radio show of the National Speedway Directory and Speedwaysonline.com. Each week Dennis and Tim will bring you the racing news from behind the scenes and on the track from all over North America. Find out which event, series and track we are highlighting for this weekend.

This week we celebrate America’s birthday with the most All-American of motorsports…drag racing. On September 6th “Snake and Mongoo$e the Movie” will debut. Track Source Radio takes you behind the scenes for an exclusive preview with those responsible for bringing this story to the big screen and the real life characters that lived this story.

Don “The Snake” Prudhomme was listed as the 3rd greatest NHRA driver of all time and will join us tonight to talk about his legendary career and the movie that will debut this year.

Tom “The Mongoo$e” McEwen will bring us insights into how a young drag racer from California changed sports marketing forever with the deal he reached with Mattel for the Snake and Mongoo$e sponsorship.

Current NHRA Funny Car stars Ron Capps and Alexis DeJoria had parts in the movie and share their thoughts on the movie and how the Snake and Mongoo$e helped grow drag racing into what it is today.

One of Don Prudhomme’s sponsors through the years was CAM2 and they are back and better than ever with their motor oils for racers and your daily drive. Jack Baker from CAM2 talks about this historic brand then and now.

Snake and Mongoo$e the Movie would have remained a great story on paper if not for the hard work of Producer Robin Broidy. Robin tells us the story behind the movie’s development and how much the real life Snake and Mongoo$e were involved in keeping the movie as realistic as possible.

Any great story needs a great writer and Alan Paradise did an amazing job on the screenplay. This labor of love took a decade to get to the big screen and Alan tells us all about how and why he got involved with this project.
